Tn AGD Master Track presentation by Dr Susie Lin , DDS,MD Dr. Sam Mckenn,DDS, MD and Dr. Anthony Carroccia,DDS,MAGD,ABGD

Course to be held Medical College North building on Vandy campus just off of 21st ave North Room C2209

Dr. Carroccia will begin Friday morning with a review of sedation and anesthesia. This 4 hour program will meet the biannual requirements for sedation permit holders in the state of Tennessee. If you want to cover your sedation requirements only we will allow you to register for only this part of the program.

Sunday morning Dr. Carroccia will return with a more in depth presentaion on Sedation/ Pharmocology/ and anesthesia.

Dr. Lin will be presenting on Friday afternoon and part of the day on Saturday on "Guided Bone Regeneration"

Her program will include

1.Basic concept of bone grafting and reconstruction of bony defect

2 Review of different options of bone graft materials.

3 Socket preservation guided bone regeneration using particulate allograft, autogenous ramus bone graft, lateral apporoach sinus lift and bone brafting, illac crest bone graft, tibial bone graft, BMP-2, and free fibula graft.

4 complications and management.

Dr. Mckenna will be presenting on two topics.

Diagnosis and Management of Odontogenic Head and Neck Infections

1 the epidemic of untreated pulpal caries-access to dental care

2 fascial space infection anatomy of the fascial planes

3 microbiology of head and neck infection

4 clinical examples of the infection of different fascial spaces

5 signs and symptoms of head and neck infection

6 evaluation of the patient with suspected head and neck infection

7 principles of head and neck infection management

6 pitfalls in the management of head and neck infection

Dr. Lin graduated from SUNY stonybrook with a B.S. (SUMMA CUM LAUDE), DDS from New York University College of Dentistry, MD from Vanderbilt University. Completed her Oral Surgery 6 yr program at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in 2004.

Sam Mckenna, DDS MD
Professor and Chairman of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Department at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Dr. Mckenna earned his DDS from UCLA and MD from Vanderbilt University. He has published many articles on various subjects on Oral Surgery and is on the editorial board of JOMS. He has lectured nationally and internationally for AAOMS and AGD.

Anthony Carroccia, DDS, MAGD, ABGD

Dr. Carroccia has been teaching on the topic of sedation for almost a decade having lectured at both the ADA and AGD nation meetings. He is a published author on the matter in journals and a textbook, where he collaborated with Ann Brunick, a co-author of the Handbook for Nitrous Oxide and Oxygen Sedation. He has a Diplomat from DOCS as well as a Master from the College of Sedation in Dentistry fro the ADSA. He serves on the TDA committee for Anesthesia, Sedation and Scope of Practice.
